A system enabling a trainee to be placed in an immersive static canopy descent situation. The gantry can be transported, once dismantled, and no ground fixation are required. It has great stability whatever movements the trainee undertakes (gravity centre centered on the structure).

Cube located on the VR helmet enabling to locate the position in space (axis x, y and z).

- Capture rate : included between 60 and 180 Hz.
- Angle resolution : included between 0.01 et 0.5°.
- Latency : included between 4
and 12 ms.

There are two screens, the 1st is dedicated to the instructor, and the 2nd displays what the trainee sees in the VR helmet.

- Processor speed : 2.8 Ghz minimum.
- Memory RAM : 1024 Mo minimum.
- Hard disk capacity : 160 Go minimum.
- - Graphical card : type nVidia 512 Mo ram video minimum, with outputs Dvi/VGA.
- Sound card : type Dolby digital 7.1.
- Reader /burner Cdrom et DVD.
- Computer screen : seventeen “” LCD screen.
- Second screen : fourteen “” LCD screen
- Keyboard and mouse : standard.
- OS : Microsoft Windows XP.

System used to control the canopy, to simulate the efforts needed to be applied to the brakes and the pullback effect of these actions.


These controls can be set in height (+/- 15 cm), they have a maximum clearance of 125 cm and they consist of handles.

The adaptation can be done on the control system (joystick, controller...), on the display system (projection on screen), or on the number of trainees present in a same training session.
